Hand Carved Andean Trilogy Sun and Moon Gourd Decorative Box, ‘Andean Trilogy’

Artisan Teodolinda Seguil of Peru depicts the Andean Trilogy in this hand carved gourd decorative box. Carved into the lid are the three animals of the trilogy, the condor, the puma, and the serpent, which respectively represent mind, body, and soul. In the body of the gourd is carved a scene of people at work in harmony with their natural surroundings and paying homage to the sun and the moon.
