Crowned by flowers, a Frida Kahlo-style skull is delightful. Mexican artisans Fernando and Magali Pedro create the small sculpture using the time-honored techniques of Oaxacan i barro negro /i . The unique black color and slightly metallic sheen are obtained by polishing the clays surface with a quartz stone before the piece is fired.
