Crispy Chicken Fritters
Introduction
Crispy Chicken Fritters are bite-sized, flavorful patties made with tender chicken, cheese, and herbs, pan-fried until golden brown. They’re quick to prepare, family-friendly, and pair wonderfully with dipping sauces like garlic mayo, ranch, or sweet chili sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinners, lunchboxes, or party platters, these fritters are a delicious twist on classic chicken nuggets.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, finely chopped or shredded
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour (or cornstarch for a lighter texture)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or dill, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2–3 tbsp oil, for pan-frying
Method
- Prepare the Chicken Mixture
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped chicken, cheese, eggs, mayonnaise, flour, parsley, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Stir until everything is well mixed and forms a thick, spoonable batter.
- Heat the Pan
- Add 2–3 tablespoons of oil to a large skillet and heat over medium heat.
- Cook the Fritters
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the mixture into the skillet, gently flattening each portion with the back of a spoon.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Repeat with the remaining mixture, adding more oil as needed.
- Serve
- Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate to remove excess oil.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
Storage
- Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or oven to bring back the crispiness.
- Freezer: Freeze uncooked fritters on a tray, then transfer to a freezer bag. Cook directly from frozen, adding 2–3 extra minutes per side.
