Ingredients:
- 2 cups cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen, hulled and chopped)
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar (adds warmth and depth)
- ½ cup orange juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 pouch liquid pectin (or powdered equivalent)
Instructions:
- Cook the Fruit Base
In a large saucepan, combine cranberries, strawberries, orange juice, and lemon juice. Simmer over medium heat until the cranberries start to pop and strawberries soften (about 10 minutes). - Blend (Optional)
For a smoother jam, carefully use an immersion blender to puree the mixture. Leave it chunky if you prefer texture. - Add Sugar & Spices
Stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Return to a simmer, stirring until sugar is fully dissolved. - Add Pectin
Stir in the pectin and bring the mixture to a full rolling boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. - Jar the Jam
Ladle the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving about ¼ inch of headspace. Wipe rims, seal with lids, and process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes (if storing long-term). - Cool & Store
Let jars cool completely at room temperature. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 1 year (or refrigerate unprocessed jars and use within 3 weeks).
