Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz / 400 g) tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup elbow macaroni (uncooked)
- 2 cups beef broth (or water)
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika (Hungarian if possible)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Brown the Meat:
In a large skillet or pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat. - Add Aromatics:
Stir in the chopped onion and garlic. Cook for 2–3 minutes until softened and fragrant. - Add Sauce & Spices:
Mix in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Stir well. - Simmer:
Pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. - Add Pasta:
