Oh man! I put this recipe together for a gathering, and people devoured it instantly.

Maple BBQ Hasselback Kielbasa Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb smoked kielbasa sausage
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce (your favorite kind)
  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for tang)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Toothpicks (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven
Heat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease it.
  2. Slice the Kielbasa
Cut the kielbasa into 1 to 1½ inch pieces. Make shallow “hasselback” slices along each piece (about 4–5 cuts), being careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  4. Glaze the Sausage
Arrange kielbasa pieces on the prepared baking sheet. Brush generously with the maple BBQ glaze, making sure it seeps into the slices.
  5. Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes, brushing with more glaze halfway through, until caramelized and sticky.
  6. Serve
Transfer to a platter, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve warm with toothpicks.

Storage:

  • Fridge: Keep in an airtight container up to 3 days. Reheat in oven or air fryer until hot.
  • Freezer: Store glazed bites (after baking) in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Reheat from frozen at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes.
